Husband is on leave from work for a week and he proudly emailed this photo to me at school in the middle of the day. This is something I know he has wanted to do for the ten years we have been living close to the beach-stick a note up on the door announcing that he has, “Gone Surfing.” He did it! Not that I appreciated it so much while I was stuck at work.
In our current school newspaper my reporters have asked kids, amongst other questions, “What is one thing that everyone should try and do?” We have received some great replies from kids aged 6 – 12. Some of these are:
- Go on a giant waterslide
- Enter a challenge like a read-a-thon
- Learn a new language
- Have a sleepover
- Look through a microscope
- Go on a flying fox
- Try something you have always wanted to do but don’t give up on it.
- Watch TV upside down
This got me thinking. What would my own answer be to this question. If Husband was asked this question, I am sure he would have answered with his desire to leave a note on the front door saying he is out doing something cool.
Me? Climb the Great Wall of China or spend an entire (non-sick) day in bed without feeling guilty.
I challenge you – send me one line…What is one thing everyone should try and do?
